French Championship

On November 5, 2025, at the heart of Voyage Samaritaine in Paris, the historic first edition of the French Pâté-Croûte Championship was held.

This event marked a turning point: the former selection event for France, Benelux, and Switzerland officially became THE French Pâté-Croûte Championship .

At the end of a day of excellence, 7 laureates were qualified for the World Championship Final, and the very first Champion de France de Pâté-Croûte was crowned.

1st Edition & Winners

On November 5, 2025, Voyage Samaritaine in Paris hosted the first edition of the Championnat de France de Pâté-Croûte. Twenty exceptional finalists competed before a prestigious jury to make history.

At the end of the deliberation, Jonathan Dudek was crowned the first Champion de France. He leads the 7 laureates who qualified for the World Championship Final.

Essential Rules

  • Only one candidate is allowed per establishment.
  • A candidate may participate in only one selection (French or International).
  • The recipe and shape of the pâté-croûte are considered final once the application has been validated.
  • Any publication of a photo of the pâté-croûte online before the World Final will result in immediate disqualification.

Given the success of the championship, we kindly ask you to inform us of your intention to participate by registering via the dedicated link. This will allow us to ensure your application is properly received and to send you updated information.

Calendar & Key Stages
From selection to consecration, here is the detailed journey of the 2025 edition.

STAGE 1: PRESELECTION BY APPLICATION

  • October 10: Deadline for submission of applications.
  • October 16 (at the latest): Announcement of the 40 candidates selected by the organizing committee.

STAGE 2: SELECTION TASTING

  • October 23 (at the latest): Deadline for sending 6 slices by the 40 selected candidates (via Chronofresh, to Lyon, address to be communicated later).
  • October 24: Blind tasting by a panel of professionals.
  • October 24 (at the latest): Announcement of the 19 finalists selected.

THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP

  • November 5, 2025: The 19 finalists and the winner of the Toquicimes Festival (20 candidates in total) will compete in the French Championship at Espace Voyage – La Samaritaine, Paris. A blind tasting will determine the French Champion and the 6 other laureates.

THE WORLD FINAL

  • December 1, 2025: The grand finale of the World Pâté-Croûte Championship at La Sucrière, Lyon.
    The 15 finalists (7 from the French Championship + 8 from the international selections) will be judged by an exceptional panel.

Jury & Presidency

To award such a prestigious title, the French Pâté-Croûte Championship  was supported by an exceptional jury. It was composed of starred chefs, ‘Meilleurs Ouvriers de France’ (MOF), and renowned personalities from the world of gastronomy. Their experience and impartiality guaranteed a fair and undisputed verdict.

The 2025 edition was presided over by chef Mathieu Viannay.

The competition is open to professionals in the culinary trades (chefs, charcutiers, caterers, etc.) with at least 5 years of experience and an active business registration (SIRET). Home-based chefs and teachers are not eligible.

Your participation is confirmed only upon receipt of a postal acknowledgment, a digital confirmation (for online submissions), or a physical receipt (for in-person submissions).

No. The recipe and shape of the pâté-croûte are considered final once the application has been validated.

NO. Any photo of the competing pâté-croûte published online before the World Championship Final (December 1, 2025) will result in the candidate’s immediate and irrevocable disqualification.

Yes. If you are among the 40 candidates selected based on your application, sending 6 slices is mandatory for the tasting selection. The shipment must be made using a refrigerated transport service such as Chronofresh.
